Professional Association for Combined Strength
COMA is part of the American Federation of Musicians, the largest union of performing artists in the world, with more than 150,000 members. There are more than 32,000 members in Canada.

Local Representation
COMA represents some of the finest professional musicians of all styles. Informational and general meetings are held regularly.

Lobbying/Representation
The AFM staff keeps an eye on how current legislation in Canada and United States will affect musicians. The AFM lobbies to make sure that musicians' needs and concerns are not ignored.

Covers both Canada and the United States. We have a directory of booking agents that have signed agreements with the AFM, and we can put you in touch with them.

The Music Performance Trust Fund (MPTF)
More gigs! Put on free public concerts, but get paid. A co-sponsor and this special performance fund can cover your fee. See MPTF Booking Information

AFM contracts both protect you and give your clients a guarantee of professional quality and reliability.

Union Scale and Minimum-Compensation Guidelines
We publish compensation guidelines for our members. Union scale assures that you'll be paid adequately for your services.

Royalties and Special Payments Funds
When you file AFM contacts and record through the AFM, you are entitled to these continuing-use payments.
